Chelsea fans react to Oscar's contract extension - "Better than Coutinho!"

Oscar for Chelsea

Chelsea playmaker Oscar has penned a new contract until 2019 today.

Chelsea have made a stunning start to the season, and their 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday means that they remain unbeaten in the Premier League after 11 games.

The performances of Thibaut Courtois, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa have contributed massively to their great start, but so have the display of a more unsung player.

Playmaker Oscar doesn't usually grab the headlines given the other stars in the Chelsea team, but with three goals and two assists in the Premier League, the Brazilian has enjoyed a productive start to the campaign.

The 23-year-old, who arrived from Internacional for £25m in 2012, has now been rewarded for his fine form with a new contract, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2019 - and he's delighted to be staying.

"I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England," he told the Chelsea official website. "I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy."

Chelsea fans have been reacting on Twitter throughout the day, with virtually all of them ecstatic to be keeping one of their key players in West London for the foreseeable future.
