Bicycle hits 207mph and outruns supercar - a new world record is set

François Gissy Bicycle World Record 1

A rocket-powered bicycle has set a new world record for it's vehicle class.

Putting a bicycle up against a supercar in a drag race would usually seem like unfair odds, but when you strap a rocket to that bicycle you've got a whole different kind of drag race.

On Friday 7th November François Gissy rode his rocket-powered bicycle at the Circuit Paul Ricard at Le Castellet in the South of France, in an attempt to set a new speed record for the vehicle class. He did just that, with a top speed of 207mph (333 km/h).

Take a look at this super-dangerous feat below. He accelerates to maximum speed in just 5 seconds, and easily outruns the Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
