Aston Villa fans react to Callum Robinson's Preston hat-trick: "Lambert, are you watching?"

Trinity Road Stand - Aston Villa

Aston Villa loanee Callum Robinson showed his class with a hat-trick for Preston North End.

With the FA Cup first round fixtures coming to an end, non-league Havant & Waterlooville had the chance to add another chapter to their FA Cup story, almost seven years since they took the lead twice away at Liverpool.

Their opponents were Preston North End, who sit second in League One, but were coming off the back of two consecutive defeats, which had halted their eight game winning streak.

Manager Simon Grayson has his own success story from the FA Cup, having led his Leeds United side to Old Trafford, beating Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United 1-0 in a memorable day.

The surroundings couldn't have been any more different for Grayson tonight though, but his Preston side came through the game professionally.

The hero of the game was forward Callum Robinson. The England Under-20 striker is tipped for big things, and Aston Villa allowed him to join Preston on loan until January in order to get him first team football.

Having outpaced the defence and slotted home in the seventh minute, Robinson added a second before half time, sweeping home Paul Gallagher's cross, aided by some great movement.

And when his goalbound shot was handballed on the line by Warren Cummings, Robinson stepped up to bag his hat-trick, taking the match ball back to Lancashire with him.

It's ironic that Robinson found the net so frequently tonight whilst his Aston Villa side struggle in front of goal, and despite the lesser opposition, Villa fans took to Twitter to ask why he isn't involved in the team more often.
