Tottenham player ratings v Stoke: Kaboul & Fazio hapless in defeat

Another poor Spurs performance led to another Spurs defeat on Sunday afternoon. Here's how the players rated against Stoke City...

Hugo Lloris - 6.5/10

The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper was once again left stranded by his defence and, though no stopper will be happy to concede two, there was little he could have done to change this result.

Kyle Naughton - 5/10

Considered by many not to be Spurs' worst performer on the day, the right-back got himself sent off late on to ensure his name would be remembered for the wrong reasons. Some argue that his foul saved a third goal and possibly gave Tottenham the chance to salvage a late equaliser, however.

Younes Kaboul - 4/10

The skipper has played every single minute of his side's Premier League campaign but enough is enough. Mauricio Pochettino needs to take a stand and drop Kaboul, who has been poor for a very long time now.

Federico Fazio - 4/10

Sadly for Spurs fans, Kaboul's centre-back partner was no better today. For both goals, the north London side just let Stoke walk through them. Terrible defending.

Danny Rose - 6/10

Pochettino's problems in defence are everywhere and Rose was no exception today. Ben Davies must surely start ahead of him after the international break. However, going forward, he did provide the cross for Nacer Chadli's goal.

Ryan Mason - 6.5/10

Once again, one of very few Tottenham players to actually show any passion. Couldn't influence the result but the final score could have been very different had the north London side fielded 11 Ryan Masons.

Etienne Capoue - 5/10

Like Kaboul, Capoue has been off form lately and could do with an extended rest.

Andros Townsend - 5/10

The problem with Townsend is that he will score against a Europa League minnow (or a San Marino for England) and make it seem as though he's ready to produce on the big stage. When it comes to the Premier League, however, he never delivers against better opposition. Hauled off at half-time.

Christian Eriksen - 5/10

Also withdrawn at half-time due to 'tactical reasons,' this was another poor performance from the Dane. Eriksen started the season so brightly but this has really slipped in the last few weeks.

Nacer Chadli - 7/10

If anyone was going to find the net for Tottenham, it was going to be Chadli and he did so with a powerful close-range strike. Worked all day and made forward runs that his team-mates seemed completely alien to.

Harry Kane - 6/10

A bit like Townsend, did not produce at a higher level. But Kane's passion is still a far superior upgrade to Emmanuel Adebayor right now.

Mousa Dembele - 4.5/10

Came on at half-time but changed little, simply adding to Spurs' misery.

Erik Lamela - 4.5/10

Often looks out of his depth in the Premier League and certainly didn't exert too much influence today.

Emmanuel Adebayor - 5/10

Offered as little coming off the bench as he does when he starts and Roberto Soldado would have been a better option to bring on.
