Tottenham morning news: £20m striker and Brazilian star both linked

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly offer £20million for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez in January.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that a move for the England international has been sanctioned by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and that Saints boss Ronald Koeman is ready to accept the offer following the fine form of summer signing and fellow front-man Graziano Pelle.

Rodriguez would definitely be a canny addition to Tottenham’s front-line with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado continuing to falter.

In other news, the Sunday Times reports that Tottenham are the latest club to show an interest in Barcelona full-back Dani Alves.

The Brazilian international is out of contract this summer and has previously been linked with Manchester United. But it is now being claimed that Spurs could make a move given their ongoing problems at right-back.
