The White Hart Lane faithful were struggling to find any positives of note after a 2-1 home loss to Stoke...
The north London side are now 15 points off league-leaders Chelsea and have conceded 16 times already this term.
It is hardly the start boss Mauricio Pochettino would have dreamed off.
And, speaking of bad starts, it was an early goal that set the tone for Spurs on Sunday afternoon, as Bojan Krkic - relatively unchallenged - put Stoke City ahead at White Hart Lane with a fantastic individual effort just several minutes into the encounter.
Jonathan Walters then doubled the Potters' lead and, despite Nacer Chadli's second-half strike, Pochettino's men could not force their way back onto level terms.
They weren't helped late on by Kyle Naughton's sending off for a foul on Victor Moses.
Naughton, however, was actually considered to have played better than most of his team-mates before the sending off - while many suggest his red card could have earned his side a draw as he stopped Moses from rushing through on goal.
Some fans, though, weren't kind about the right-back on Twitter after the game - and have suggested that his consequent suspension is the only positive Tottenham can take from their defeat to Stoke...
Wow we are terrible. Had a feeling we would get beat today. Only positive is Naughton will miss 3 games #THFC— James Fox (@JFox1980) November 9, 2014
There is one positive, Naughton now cannot play the next game!— Tom (@tomtkkellard) November 9, 2014
The only positive we can take is that Naughton has a 3 match ban..— Kyle Aaron O'Shea (@IAmKyleOShea) November 9, 2014
One positive of naughton getting sent off is he won't be about for 4 games! Now for Kaboul!— Anthony Ridge (@Ridgealdo) November 9, 2014
Only positive from today is Naughton being sent off and suspended for 3 games— Ross Ian Ritchie (@RossIanRitchie) November 9, 2014
Three players turned up today, Naughton, Mason and Kane. Think that shows something going really wrong. #THFC— clum (@basedclum) November 9, 2014
