Former Derby County midfielder Alberto Bueno scored Rayo Vallecano's only goal of the game as a rampant Real Madrid came to life in the second half to win 5-1.
The 26-year-old ended his five game goal drought in the first half v Real Madrid by scoring a goal both Costa Rican international Keylor Navas and Portuguese defender Pepe will want to forget.
Sloppy defending allowed Bueno to have a free run at goal, following a nice layoff from Leo Baptistao, but unfortunately for Madrid that was only the start of the comical defending:
The former Derby County man rounded the out-rushing Navas, slipped past Pepe, whose sliding challenge took out his own goalkeeper, before placing the ball into an empty net for his fifth of the season.
Sadly for the ex-Ram, it didn't stop a rampant Real Madrid side storming to a 5-1 home victory, with Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo all getting on the scoresheet.
A former fan-favourite at Pride Park, Bueno enjoyed an incredibly fruitful start to the campaign which returned four goals in four games. However, he had failed to net in five matches prior to his goal against Madrid.
The win for Real Madrid means they sit at the top of La Liga with a two point gap on second-placed Barcelona and a four point gap on third-placed Valencia.
