Calum Chambers had something of a bad day at the office against Swansea City today.
It was yet another dreary day at the office for Arsenal fans, as they threw away a 1-0 lead at the Liberty Stadium to lose the game 2-1 after Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis scored for The Swans.
But the real story of the game would have to be the performance of Calum Chambers. From the opening minute his match-up with Swansea winger Jefferson Montero looked uneven.
The Ecuadorian has sensational pace and strength, Chambers is strong, but nowhere near fast enough to deal with his electric turn of foot.
Montero had him on toast for the entire game and it was this that resulted in the winning goal.
Arsenal got it wring in playing Chambers at right-back today, but by not taking him off when things were clearly going against them Arsene Wenger really let the fans down.
They say a picture can tell a 1000 words, this one certainly does. Chambers looks on forlorn, on the dirt, at the fleet-footed winger who had once again made him look foolish in South Wales.
It was a day Arsenal, Chambers and Wenger will want to forget ... and fast.
