A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool…
Liverpool are reportedly prepared to offer Raheem Sterling a new deal worth £100,000-a-week along with a release-clause of £60million.
That is the claim of the Sunday Mirror, which suggests the Reds are hoping to tie up the deal in the coming weeks to finally put an end to the ongoing reports linking the England international with a move to Real Madrid.
The report goes on to suggest that Sterling’s representatives are in regular contact with the club regarding the proposed new deal.
In other news, Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson has been speaking following the Reds’ 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
In quotes published by the club’s official website the midfielder said, “We kept going and kept fighting. We had started really well in the game; their goal knocked us a little bit. But we probably deserved something out of the game.”
Alas it was not to be, with Diego Costa scoring what proved to be the winner, but there were positives to take from the performance and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to build on that on the opposite side of the next international break.
