Mikael Silvestre has backed both Arsenal and Manchester United to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The ex-France international defender believes that getting into next season’s Champions League is a ‘realistic objective’ for his two former clubs.
‘I don’t think I can’t predict that’, he told HITC Sport before this weekend’s round of matches when asked to predict where Arsenal and United will finish this season.
‘The top four is a realistic objective for both and I think they will manage it’.
Arsenal and United both are outside the top four of the Premier League at the moment. While the Gunners are currently sixth in the standings with 17 points from 11 matches, the Red Devils are a point behind them in seventh.
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal would have headed into the two-week international break in fourth place had they picked up a point against Swansea City on Sunday. However, the Gunners lost the encounter 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium despite taking the lead.
