'Always weird' - Ex-Spurs star tweets as he prepares to face them

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has tweeted ahead of their match against his former club Tottenham Hotspur

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Peter Crouch has sent a tweet revealing his feelings as his current side Stoke City prepare to face Spurs at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The 33-year-old made 93 appearances during his time at Tottenham, scoring 24 goals and providing 21 assists in the process and he reflected on the strange nature of playing against a side he served for so long.

"Looking forward to playing at the Lane," Crouch tweeted.  "Always weird playing against Spurs but we are going to do everything to get a result."

Crouch has made 12 appearances for Stoke this season, scoring three goals in that time.  But do not expect him to celebrate if he nets against his former club this afternoon.

With just two points separating the two sides, both managers will know how close this encounter is likely to be.
