Competition for places in the Tottenham Hotspur starting line-up is fierce, but that is only helping Ben Davies grow and develop as a player.
The Wales international defender has made just one appearance in the Premier League so far this season following his move from Swansea City in the summer transfer window.
However, Davis is happy at White Hart Lane and believes that fighting for his place is making him a better player.
‘Off the pitch, the training ground is one of the best in in the country’, he told BBC Sport. ‘The competition for places in every position on the pitch is at a really high level. It's a challenge that improves me as a player and it's one I'm enjoying’.
Davies had a hugely impressive 2013-14 campaign for Swansea last season and was one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
Although the 21-year-old has regularly featured in the Europa League and the League Cup this term, manager Mauricio Pochettino does not seem to be too eager to give him chances in the Premier League.
Perhaps he should…
