Wayne Rooney says Daley Blind is one of the four best trainers at the club.

Despite losing the Manchester derby last week United still have plenty to be excited about. They pushed both City and Chelsea all the way in recent weeks and progress is definitely being made - despite what was a woeful 2013-14.

Much of the improvement appears to have sourced from training, where Louis van Gaal has put more of the impetus on his team's strengths, rather than nullifying the opponents, which was reportedly the mantra under Moyes.

This week, in United Uncovered, it was Wayne Rooney's turn to answer some questions about the club's training sessions.

He had some interesting answers - including on the matter of who puts in the biggest shift in a training session.

It is well known Rooney is a hard trainer, as is Rafael - but he also confirmed that vice-captain Darren Fletcher is in that bracket - as is £13.8 million newbie Daley Blind.

"Yeah, I'd probably say myself and Fletch [Darren Fletcher, are the hardest trainers]. Rafael is always another one and Daley has come in and been really competitive. I think the way the team is now means there's lots of competition and we all want to win in training. You're disappointed if you're on the losing team so I think everyone is quite competitive."

Blind has certainly been in great form for United and judging by his approach on the pitch, professional and willing, it comes as no surprise he has become one of the best trainers at the club this season.
