Manchester United take on Crystal Palace today and they go into the game with a serious problem in defence.
They are without both Jonny Evans and Phil Jones for the fixture. On top of that they are also missing Marcos Rojo, after he dislocated his shoulder in the Manchester derby and Chris Smalling, suspended after getting sent off in the same game.
What that does mean is Manchester United potentially playing two players at centre back with a combined age of just 39-years-old.
Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair are both fit and ready to take part in the game if called upon by Louis van Gaal. The pair, who are more used to under-21 football than with the senior side, have both been used on occasion this term - as United have suffered badly with defensive injuries and misfortune so far this season.
The two were snapped in training yesterday looking ready for whatever is thrown their way - as potentially one of the youngest centre-back pairings in Manchester United's history.
Of course that could change. Gary Neville is one who would like to see the two youngsters given a chance but it would appear that Michael Carrick may be drafted into central defence instead.
