Thibaut Courtois 7 - helpless with Liverpool's goal but claimed crosses well and dominated his area well.
Branislav Ivanovic 7 - was fairly solid in defence, and didn't let Sterling take him on too often down that side.
Gary Cahill 8 - may have got away with a late handball, but was solid throughout and brought Chelsea level with a scrappy goal.
John Terry 8 - continues to impress in the big games with his leadership in defence. Forms a superb partnership with Cahill.
Cesar Azpilicueta 7 - effectively won the game for Chelsea by embarking on a superb run to set up Costa's winning goal, whilst also being effective in defence.
Nemanja Matic 9 - continues to impress, shielding the defence with four tackles, three interceptions. Consistently outstanding, particularly in the big games.
Cesc Fabregas 6 - was actually the weak link today. Was far too advanced and offered little protection to the back four, particularly for Emre Can's opener
Ramires 7 - did okay on the right hand side, offering energy and defensive responsibility in the big games - which is why Mourinho regularly plays him.
Oscar 7 - Gerrard could barely get close to him. Looks to have kicked on again after a disappointing season last term, but was close to his best today.
Eden Hazard 8 - should have scored with a few chances in the first half, but was a constant threat with his dribbling and close control.
Diego Costa 8 - the ideal wind-up merchant for Mourinho. Battled with Martin Skrtel all game and scored the crucial winning goal.
Willian 6 - was a good substitution for Ramires given that he also defends, and just added more energy when he came on.
Didier Drogba - just five touches of the ball in a short time on the pitch.
Filipe Luis - similarly, the left back only touched the ball twice, so it's tough to rate him.
