Chelsea morning news: Mourinho on Balotelli and Ramires for sale

All the latest gossip from Stamford Bridge this morning.

Chelsea take on Liverpool this afternoon and ahead of the game Jose Mourinho has been discussing their £16 million striker Mario Balotelli.

The Chelsea boss was Balotelli's manager at Inter Milan. The pair had a rather topsy-turvy relationship during that time - often seen arguing and remonstrating with each other at the San Siro.

But despite this it was still Mourinho who truly gave Balotelli his big brea.

And in light of once calling him 'unmanageable' he has made it clear in an interview with Chelsea FC that he loved working with the controversial Italian:

"I am very aware of him [Balotelli] for this game. I know he is a dangerous player.

"As a character, he is Mario Balotelli, he is what he is, everyone is a different personality but I have good memories with him, not bad.

"Because I know him so well I will try to help my players to play against him, but even that way he is always dangerous."

Balotelii is expected to start against Chelsea at Anfield.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to listen to offers for midfielder Ramires.

The Brazilian international has not been a regular in the team this season, with injury a major contributing factor. At the age of 27, and with plenty of interest still surrounding his services, it is believed Mourinho has given the OK to the Chelsea board to send Ramires on his way, according to

Former boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring him to Real Madrid.

Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have starred in the heart of Chelsea's midfield this season.

Finally, and Middlesbrough are hopeful of keeping Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford at the club.

The English striker has scored four goals in 11 appearances for the Championship high flyers but his current deal expires in January.

But Aitor Karanka is confident Chelsea will allow him to stay until the end of the season.
