Tottenham Hotspur did just enough to get past Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League last night.
Tottenham Hotspur battled hard to a 2-1 win against Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League last night thanks to goals from Andros Townsend and in form striker Harry Kane.
Here are our player ratings for the game last night.
Vorm – 6
A decent all round performance though looked nervy at times, which you don’t get from Hugo Lloris.
Dier – 6
Solid all round performance. Didn’t look troubled defensively.
Fazio – 5
He’ll get better the more he plays in the Tottenham back four. Perhaps a bit unlucky to have been sent off for the second time this season.
Vertonghen – 6
The Belgian looked composed and a solid leader in the first-half and the opposite in the second-half as Asteras piled on the pressure.
Davies – 6
Won’t be happy with the way he played as he looks to become first choice left-back. His final ball needs to be more consistent.
Stambouli – 6
Worked hard throughout the game to protect the back four and move the ball on quickly, as soon as he won back possession.
Dembele – 7
Looked composed in the middle of the team and took the sting out of things during difficult moments.
Lamela – 5
Take off at half-time with Pochettino obviously protecting him for the weekend. He will have better halves of football.
Townsend – 8
Arguably the man of the match. He was superb in all attacking areas and made no mistake from the spot.
Eriksen – 6
Did some decent things during the game but looked as though he was holding himself back, which was disappointing.
Kane – 7
Just gets better and better. He worked hard, made different runs across the Asteras back four and scored a great header for Tottenham’s second goal.
Soldado – N/A
Didn’t really do anything to show why he’s a better choice than Kane up front.
Mason – N/A
Settled things down in midfield but didn’t have a major impact on proceedings.
