The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Pique, Bakkali and more

Jose Mourinho Double

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven and Inter Milan stars all feature.

Jose Mourinho was arguably the best manager in the transfer market last summer, as he improved his side in a number of key areas where they had a direct need for reinforcements.

The Blues are also being tipped to move on several winter signings, with some impressive names being linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

Here are five of the best players to have been linked with Chelsea over the past week.

Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Any regular followers of Chelsea transfer news will know that Pique isn’t a new name to be linked with the club. The Barcelona defender continues to see his first team chances dwindle and the Blues have been linked with offering him a way out of the Nou Camp.

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

The German midfielder is another name, which isn’t new in relation to Chelsea transfer rumours. Khedira’s arrival could pave the way for John Obi Mikel to seal an exit away from Stamford Bridge.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

If Marco Reus does leave BVB, there’s going to be a very long line of clubs interested in signing him. Reus is one of the most talented midfielders in Europe and Chelsea have the resources to be able to go after him whether that’s this winter or next summer.

Mateo Kovacic (Inter Milan)

This would be one for the future as Chelsea have been linked with making an investment in the 20-year-old Croatian. He’s reportedly refusing the prospect of a new deal at Inter Milan, which could prompt them to sell him.

Zakaria Bakkali (PSV Eindhoven)

The 18-year-old Belgian has been described as the ‘new Eden Hazard’ in some reports with Chelsea one of the clubs reportedly interested in trying to sign him. The Blues would be a good club for him though he’d possibly face numerous loan moves away from Stamford Bridge.
