Juventus, Aston Villa, Napoli, Benfica and Cruzeiro stars all feature.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was one of the best managers in last summer’s transfer market.
Despite not having the luxury of the Champions League to fall back on, he convinced some world class players to move to Old Trafford, which gives him plenty of options this season.
However, January additions are still key and here are five of the best names to be linked with Old Trafford moves from the past week.
Arturo Vidal (Juventus)
This rumour stretches back to the summer. United’s interest in the player is well known and the Daily Star produced a report this week, which suggests the Serie A club and United were already in talks over a possible deal.
Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)
Reportedly Louis van Gaal’s first choice defensive signing for this winter. Aston Villa are trying to get him committed on a new long term deal, but United are circling and will more than likely pay a top end fee to make sure they get him.
Enzo Perez (Benfica)
The 28-year-old midfielder is one of several middle men currently being linked with Manchester United. United are thought to be favourites to sign him but reports also suggest interest from La Liga club Valencia.
Kalidou Koulibaly (AS Napoli)
United need a centre back this January and the Napoli defender is one of several linked with the club. Just how willing Rafa Benitez is to do business with one of his main rivals from his days at Liverpool remains to be seen.
Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro)
United are one of the clubs being linked with a possible move for the attacking midfielder and winger. He’s admitted to an admiration for Manchester United, which would seemingly make them the favourites to land him.
