Jose Mourinho and Mario Balotelli had an interesting relationship at Inter Milan together.

When Liverpool take on Chelsea tomorrow they will be hoping their £16 million signing Mario Balotelli can finally come good against the Premier League leaders at Anfield.

So far the former AC Milan and Manchester City striker has failed to get going at Liverpool - receiving widespread criticism for some of his recent displays.

Of course, he will be going up against a manager he knows very well.

Because before his City and Milan spells Balotelli was at Inter Milan, under the guidance of a certain Jose Mourinho.

Balotelli made his Inter debut in December 2007 under Rafa Benitez. Mourinho arrived the following summer with Balotelli a first-team member with the Nerazzurri.

Despite being a regular under Mourinho their time together was fractious. Balotelli was just a kid at the time and the pair came to blows on a couple of occasions.

Although Mourinho can now admit that it was never personal. Despite their many ups and downs he said in an interview this summer that working with Mario was always 'fun' and that he 'enjoyed it'.

He will no doubt want to see Balotelli do well in his career, but that can wait until after Liverpool take on Chelsea tomorrow.
