Everton were celebrating last night, after overcoming Lille in the UEFA Europa League and putting themselves within touching distance of the knockout stage of the competition.
The man who got the ball rolling last night has had a double reason to celebrate today, after signing a new deal at the club.
Leon Osman smashed home an excellent half volley to give Everton the lead last night and put in a typically exceptional performance in the Everton midfield.
But in his testimonial season there were growing doubts over his future at the club - with his contract due to expire at the end of the campaign.
Roberto Martinez told reporters at a dinner in Osman's honour on Wednesday that a one-year extension was in the offing for the 33-year-old.
Now it appears that deal has indeed been signed sealed and delivered.
Everton posted a picture of Osman signing on the dotted line, or at least seeming to, earlier today and Everton fans will be pleased to hear one of their own is sticking around for yet another season.
