On this day: Ramsey fires back at Rooney; Sterling to be loaned out

On the 6th November 2013 what were the stories that dominated the football landscape? Including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Let's cast our eyes back to this exact day, the 6th November 2014, but a year earlier.

What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?

Here are some of the big scoops from the 6th November 2013…

Ramsey Rooney rant

Aaron Ramsey was snapping back at comments made by Wayne Rooney a year ago today. At the time Arsenal were flying, with Ramsey the main reason for their great form.

It looked like they might genuinely be in with a shout of Premier League glory - but Manchester United star Rooney rejected the notion that Arsenal could win the title.

Ahead of a meeting between Arsenal and United Rooney seemed to suggest that Arsenal would capitulate by March.

Ramsey took exception to this, but in the end Rooney was proven correct.

Arsenal did fall away and found themselves fortunate to finish in the top four. But they still finished well clear of Manchester United - all the way down in seventh.

Sterling deal

In a rather odd rumour, that indeed proved to be untrue, Liverpool were reportedly ready to loan out Raheem Sterling for the rest of the season so he could play more regular first-team football.

However the move of course never happened.

Instead Sterling went on to become one of the most important players in the Liverpool team toward the end of last season and is now perhaps their most important, with Steven Gerrard's form declining, Daniel Sturridge injured and Luis Suarez departed.
