Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been singing the praises of Paddy McNair.
The 19-year-old defender was promoted to the Red Devils’ first team at the start of the season and made his debut in the Premier League earlier this term.
McNair started the game against West Ham United at Old Trafford in September, and it ended in a 2-1 victory for United.
The Northern Irishman started against Everton in the next game as well, and it also ended in a 2-1 win for the Red Devils.
Van Gaal has now joked that he could hand McNair his third league start against Crystal Palace on Saturday in the hope that his run will continue.
‘With him, we have played two victories in a row, so maybe he is the key for our success!’ the Dutchman told MUTV.
McNair has been impressive for United so far this season. In three Premier League appearances, the youngster has won 25% of the duels, made eight defensive actions and has a pass accuracy of 86%.
United are currently 10th in the Premier League table with 13 points from 10 matches, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
