Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been singing the praises of James McCarthy.
McCarthy was the star of the show for Everton as they eased past Lille 3-0 at Goodison Park in Europa League Group H on Thursday.
The 23-year-old pulled the strings in midfield, creating four chances and putting in seven crosses during his 85 minutes on the pitch.
Jenas, a former Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United star, was at the Goodison for the match and was impressed with what he saw of McCarthy.

The victory over French club Lille on Thursday saw Everton move to the top of Group H with eight points from four matches.
Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg are currently second with seven points, while Lille are four points behind them in third. Krasnodar at the bottom of the group with just two points.
