The experienced goalkeeper described Chelsea's back line as 'formidable'.
Terry and Cahill have been the bedrock of what has been a very solid backline ever since Jose Mourinho returned to the club as manager in the summer of 2013.
He told TalkSport: “When you look at the likes of John Terry and Gary Cahill and if you look across the Premier League, consistently over the last 18 months, I don’t think there has been a better pairing than those two.
“Then add Branislav Ivanovic and either Cesar Azpilicueta or Filipe Luis, or last season Ashley Cole, and you’ve got a formidable backline there.”
Schwarzer hasn't seen any action this season at Stamford Bridge, with the experienced Premier League goalkeeper behind Thibaut Courtois and Petr Cech in the pecking order as the duo fight it out for the number one spot in the Chelsea goal.
However, the Australian does see the players up close in training every day and worked with them in a couple of big games last season, so knows the capabilities of the defenders.
They may not be happy with their season's work so far, as the Blues seem to have developed a habit of leaking the odd goal this term, which manager Jose Mourinho has voiced concern about, but they have had enough to win games - only dropping the four points in the Premier League so far this season.
However, it is expected that as the season goes on and the Chelsea side gets stronger, that the defence will be a formidable force to come up against, and more clean sheets will follow.
