Leeds United will be strong favourites going into the game against Blackpool this weekend.
Neil Redfearn said he was pleased with elements of the performance against Charlton Athletic earlier this week and it’s now time for Leeds to put another digit in the wins column against Blackpool this weekend.
Redders will be hoping his side can play some free flowing and attacking football against one of the side struggling beneath them, as they head into the match at Elland Road under pressure to register three points.
Here are five things that Redfearn will be looking for tomorrow.
This seems obvious but a win is paramount. Not only will the three points help Leeds to move away from the bottom three, it will help give the players some confidence and belief that their methods and styles are working.
A win is important but the performance matters too. Leeds need to put on a show against a side they should be able to get the better of with ease. That creates positive knock on effects such as creating an intimidating and vibrant atmosphere.
Redfearn has already said that he wants Sam Byram to be playing with less pressure and more relaxed. He’ll be keeping a close eye on the youngster to see how he responds after his comments this week.
Redfearn will want Cooper to give him a problem in terms of team selection. He did a decent job in the back four, covering for the suspended Jason Pearce against Charlton and he has the same chance, with Giuseppe Bellusci suspended instead of the skipper.
Finally, Redders will want his key players to make it through the match without picking up any injuries. It’s important the squad stays in good shape heading into a very busy winter schedule.
