Jamie O’Hara has not played a Championship game in two seasons, but he could feature against Leeds United on Saturday.
The 28-year-old former England Under-21 international midfielder has been declared fully fit and available for the clash at Elland Road by Blackpool manager Lee Clark.
‘He's a terrific footballer with a very good left foot’, Clarke told Blackpool’s official website. ‘I spoke to Harry Redknapp - he's been training with QPR for the last two months - and the initial call was actually about using their training facilities ahead of the Fulham match.
‘We got talking about football and Harry mentioned Jamie and said he was looking really fit, looking fantastic. We all know he's got ability.
'From the last time I saw him he's toned up and lost a bit of weight. He's an out-of-contract player who is hungry and I've got to deal in the out of contract or the loan market at the moment, but I'm restricted in the loan market with the numbers'.
The fact that O’Hara is hungry and determined to prove himself all over again could be a damaging factor for Leeds.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers star knows all about the Championship, and having regained his full fitness, he will be keen on making himself a nuisance against a struggling Whites side at Elland Road.
O’Hara may not start against Leeds, but the midfielder’s presence on the bench is certainly going to inject confidence into a Blackpool side currently stranded at the bottom of the league table.
