Liverpool welcome Chelsea today in the Premier League and there is little doubt this time around who the favourites are. Chelsea have gone from strength to strength over the summer, bringing in some excellent signings to make themselves easily the favourites for the league title.
Liverpool on the other hand are struggling to live up to their form of last season, with their new signings failing to cut the standard.
Three of those players all arrived from the same club - Southampton.
They raided Southampton to bring in Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren - at a combined price of around £49 million.
But tomorrow the trio, if they get a game, could do their former pals at Southampton a favour.
Because despite losing the likes of this Liverpool threesome, Luke Shaw and manager Mauricio Pochettino the Saints have gone marching on.
Ronald Koeman made some shrewd signings and has them playing a wonderful brand of football.
It is a brand of football that currently has them sitting pretty just behind Chelsea in the Premier League table.
And if Chelsea were to lose to Liverpool, along with their former Southampton players, the South-Coast club could move within one point of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table.
They face out of form Leicester City later in the day - having the benefit of knowing the Chelsea result, and whether they can really throw themselves into title talk - after recently moving up to fifth in the bookies list for potential title winners.
So who knows, Liverpool might just end up doing Southampton a favour.
