Mikel Arteta has suggested Arsenal got complacent earlier this week when they went 3-0 up in the Champions League game against Anderlecht.
The Belgian side battled back to draw the game 3-3 and take a point from the contest, which left Arsene Wenger furious after the final whistle over the performance from his players.
Arsenal were comfortable and Arteta suggests that the side just ‘switched off’ perhaps feeling comfortable at 3-0 with half an hour of the game to go, not thinking that Anderlecht could get back into the game.
Arsenal now face important matches against Galatasaray and group leaders Borussia Dortmund, as they look to firstly, secure a place in the last 16, and secondly, pip BVB to the lead, which would mean a more favourable tie.
However, for that to happen Arsenal need Dortmund to lose their other group game against Anderlecht and it’s doubtful they won’t get at least a point from the match.
