Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Kane targeting double silverware, Pochettino on Adebayor absence

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says the side have to try and win some silverware this season.

Kane has suggested there are two competitions Spurs could target.

“We want to win a trophy this season and we have a good chance in the Europa League and the Capital One Cup,” he told the Standard.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino refused to talk specifically about striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Argentine was questioned on why the forward wasn’t in the Europa League squad.

“Aaron Lennon is not here, Kyle Naughton is not here, Younes Kaboul is not here. It is the same situation,” said Pochettino.

Pochettino has suggested it’s a good thing to be criticised.

Pochettino has accepted that as a top profile manager at a big club, there are points where he’ll be criticised.

“It's a good thing to be criticised for a manager. Everyone in the world is criticised - We need to develop. Sometimes difficult moments happen but this is football,” said the boss.
