Federico Fazio was sent off for Tottenham, for the second time since signing in the summer.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio's poor start to life at the club continues.
The centre-back was sent off late on away to Asteras Tripoli, after giving away a penalty for a clumsy challenge inside the box.
Fazio's error was not critical, but it did cost Europa League debutant Michel Vorm a clean sheet, with the spot-kick a consolation as Spurs won 2-1.
It is the second time in a matter of weeks Fazio has been red carded for Spurs, previously sent off in the Premier League defeat to Manchester City.
On this occasion he was a little unlucky, with the Tripoli attacker making the most of his challenge, but it came about thanks to his lack of pace and awareness to deal with the incoming ball.
Director of football Franco Baldini has been criticised widely for his signings failing to pan out since his arrival in the summer of 2013, and it's fair to say Fazio's start has not been great.
Even aside from the red cards, he has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the Spurs defence, and is currently doing himself no favours.
He was recently called into the Argentine international squad, and was a Europa League winner with Sevilla last season, so it's premature to write him off just yet.
That hasn't stopped many Tottenham fans from being worried, with his performances out on the pitch not matching up to an impressive CV.
Here's how supporters reacted on Twitter to his display...

Great to get the 3 points but Fazio is Smalling level dumb today. #COYS can't wait for the next match.— Chadwick (@KingChadwic) November 6, 2014
Seriously, we have to appeal Fazio's suspension. Try and get them to stick a couple more games on it. #coys— Dan Louw (@DanLouw) November 6, 2014
