Liverpool take on Chelsea on Saturday at Anfield in a massive Premier League tie that has tongues wagging among football fans. Although, it certainly does not have the excitement factor of the same fixture last season. Chelsea needed victory to stay in the title race, Liverpool needed it to effectively seal the crown - Chelsea won 2-0 in a Jose Mourinho masterclass.
This time around Chelsea are the massive favourites. They are flying high at the top of the Premier League table while Liverpool simply cannot get to grips to post-Suarez life.
With Daniel Sturridge out injured as well Liverpool have won just once in their last five games, scoring just twice and conceding six in that same time period.
With Liverpool currently sitting seventh some fans have even suggested that Rodgers' job might be in trouble.
With that in mind it would probably be uneasy viewing for Rodgers to see that the club's co-owner Tom Werner came to check out training at Melwood this afternoon - braving the English winter to do so.
Of course this does not in any way suggest Liverpool are contemplating life without Rodgers, it is more likely to be a simple courtesy call - the timing would be coincidence.
Werner and John Henry are believed to remain firmly behind Rodgers - despite the majority of his new signings failing to adapt to Premier League life.
Werner also shared a word with Kolo Toure, who he probably congratulated for his excellent performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
But Rodgers will still hope to leave his chairman smiling on Saturday when they take on Chelsea at Anfield.
