On this day: Arsenal defence praised as Oscar talks 'angry' Mourinho

On the 6th November 2013 what were the stories that dominated the football landscape? Including Arsenal and Chelsea.

Let's cast our eyes back to this exact day, the 6th November 2014, but a year earlier.

What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?

Here are some of the big scoops from the 6th November 2013…

Arsenal defensive praise!

A year ago today and a wonderful defensive display from Arsenal saw them defeat Borussia Dortmund in Germany 1-0 - to push them closer to Champions League qualification.

Then in-form midfielder midfielder Aaron Ramsey was the goalscorer, but it was resolute defending from the back four of Bacary Sagna, Kieran Gibbs, Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny that truly won them the game.

A year on and the Arsenal defence, minus departed Sagna and injured Koscielny, are being lambasted in the press for the way they threw away a 3-0 lead at home to Anderlecht on Tuesday night.

A lot can change in 12 months.

You wouldn't like Mou when he's angry

Chelsea midfielder Oscar was discussing how angry boss Jose Mourinho had got after his team lost at Newcastle United the previous weekend. Speaking ahead of a Chelsea Champions League tie with Schalke he said of the Special One:

“Mr Mourinho has been very angry since the Newcastle game, very angry indeed and frustrated. We know his personality and it is scary when he’s angry like this."

Notice the way he calls him Mr Mourinho - genuinely terrified.

Mourinho would not have been angry with Oscar recently, who has been in great form for The Blues.
