Leeds United news: Redfearn on January signings, Byram and injury news

Leeds Players Warm Up

The Leeds boss has hinted at new arrivals during the January transfer window, while also praising Sam Byram.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has hinted that new faces could arrive at Elland Road in January.

During a pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend's game against Blackpool, the 49-year-old said he has spoken to owner Massimo Cellino about new signings during the January transfer window.

And the duo have come to the conclusion that the current squad 'need some help and back-up.'

Elsewhere during Redfearn's press conference, he told reporters that defender Sam Byram is looking 'more like his usual self' lately.

The 21-year-old impressed during the 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic.

Meanwhile, the 49-year-old also delivered a fitness update ahead of this Saturday's clash with bottom side Blackpool.

Midfielder Rudy Austin and striker Billy Sharp have been out injured recently and are still being monitored ahead of the weekend.

And Giuseppe Bellusci, who is suspended for the fixture anyway, has also picked up a knock in training.

Leeds go into Saturday's clash at Elland Road 17th in the Championship, looking for their first win in eight games.
