Manchester City's Joe Hart and Liverpool's Simon Mignolet have embarrassed Arsenal's Mesut Ozil in one particular area in this season's Champions League.

Liverpool's Simon Mignolet and Manchester City's Joe Hart have rather embarrassed Mesut Ozil in this year's Champions League.

Simon Mignolet 1 4 360
Mesut Özil 0 2 139

The Arsenal attacking midfielder may not currently be available for selection, but he has been overtaken in the dribbling stats by the two goalkeepers.

Both Mignolet and Hart made successful attempts at runs, whilst Ozil still has not taken on an opponent during this year's competition.

Although the custodians have played four times in Europe's elite tournament, Ozil has had 139 minutes worth of football and a player of his quality should have made a successful dribble in that time.

Ozil's two showings came against Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray and in both games he failed to round an opponent.

Given that this is his mandate in an Arsenal shirt, he will be slightly embarrassed to be sitting behind two goalkeepers in the statistics.

The German midfielder was brought in by the Gunners to provide them with creativity and class in attacking situations back in 2013, but so far the move to the Emirates has not worked out.

Ozil has failed to show the form which made him such a star at Real Madrid in England and this is another piece of evidence of his struggles.

The 26-year-old is currently out until the new-year, but when he returns he will be looking to quickly improve in this area.

Of course, if he is out of action until the new year, there is no guarantee he will have to chance to do so.

Arsenal should still make it out of their group, but after a midweek choke against Anderlecht - where the Gunners surrendered a 3-0 lead to draw - their progress to the knockout stages in not a foregone conclusion.
