Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is one of four managers who have been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October.
Other nominees include Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho - whose side are continuing to set the pace at the top of the table, and remain unbeaten, Sam Allardyce who has guided his West Ham United side into the top four in the early stages of the season and Steve Bruce from Hull City, who have come away with respectable results against Arsenal and Liverpool in the past month.
The nomination for Pardew in particular represents something of turnaround from his side during October, with the Newcastle boss under increasing pressure until they achieved back-to-back wins against Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur to lift them clear of the relegation zone, following a respectable draw against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. Their good form has since continued as they overcame Manchester City in the League Cup, and continued their good league form with a win over Liverpool last weekend.
Allardyce's West Ham have continued their good run with three wins from their three games including a win over champions Manchester City at the end of the month - with his forward Diafra Sakho among those nominated for the Player of the Month award.
Mourinho's Chelsea only dropped the two points in October when they were pegged back in the last minute against Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the Blues boss joking earlier on in the season that he didn't want to win the award when he was nominated in August.
Hull had a positive October as they began a difficult run of fixtures with a win over Crystal Palace before getting a point at both the Emirates Stadium and Anfield.
In terms of players Manchester City's Sergio Aguero has been nominated along with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez - as well as West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino, a young forward whose form has people talking up his chances of being given the nod by the England national side.
Everton's Leighton Baines and Southampton's Dusan Tadic make up the rest of the nominees.
