Manchester City latest: Early team news; under-19s qualify; Toure on Aguero

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City host CSKA Moscow this evening in their fourth Champions League group match of the season.

Following their 2-2 draw in Russia City cannot afford to drop more points if they wish to qualify for the knockout stages, and while Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini has played down the importance of this match, the fight for a place in the top two will get considerably more difficult without a win.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Frank Lampard could return from a thigh injury while Eliaquim Mangala is back in the squad after missing the Manchester derby.

Aleksandar Kolarov is unavailable however due to the calf injury he sustained in Sunday’s warm-up.

In other news, City midfielder Yaya Toure believes his teammate Sergio Aguero is on a par with fellow Argentine Lionel Messi.

The Ivory Coast international was speaking in an interview published on ESPN’s official website.

And finally, City’s under-19s beat their CSKA counterparts 4-2 in the UEFA Youth League earlier today.

Two goals from Brandon Barker and one apiece from Jack Byrne and Thierry Ambrose ensured the Blues qualified for the knockout stages.
