Aston Villa’s Joe Cole is adamant that Charles N’Zogbia can prove the difference-maker for Paul Lambert’s side over the coming weeks.
The Frenchman returned to the starting line-up for the past weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, creating Andreas Weimann’s opening goal, while standing out as the team’s most impressive performer on the afternoon.
Once part of the infamous “Bomb Squad”, he failed to make a single appearance last season after injuring his Achilles before pre-season but, despite most expecting him to depart during the summer, the £9.5 million man has battle back to feature nine times so far this term.

With Villa scoring just once during their current run of six successive league defeats, an offensive spark is desperately needed, and Cole believes his fellow playmaker is the man who can help turn things around.
‘I thought Charles was excellent against Spurs,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘When you play in that position your job is to make chances. He certainly did that.
‘Charles has played in the Premier League for a number of years now so we all know his quality and his ability to influence games. I thought he was excellent on Sunday.
‘He's coming back from a long term injury so he's only going to get stronger as the season goes on.
‘We need players who are going to score goals for us and make goals - and Charles will certainly do that.’
