Ipswich star mocks Norwich City on Twitter: 'Are we ahead of them?'

Ipswich Town's Luke Hyam has mocked Norwich City on Twitter after their defeat to Middlesbrough last night.

Ipswich Town midfielder Luke Hyam has mocked Norwich City after the Tractor Boys moved ahead of them last night.

Ipswich climbed to fifth in the Championship table with Norwich dropping down the seventh and Hyam was quick to point out that they were now looking down on their East Anglian rivals.

Hyam grew up as an Ipswich supporter and it seems that he couldn't resist the urge to wind-up Norwich's fan-base at the first possible opportunity.

He took to social media site Twitter to say: "Are we ahead of Norwich?"

Ipswich won 2-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night while Norwich lost 4-0 to Middlesbrough.

It was a humbling defeat for the Canaries, who are amongst the favourites for promotion this season, but dropped out of the playoffs last night.

Ipswich, meanwhile, have quietly climbed up the league table without much focus being given to the job that Mick McCarthy has done at Portman Road.

The former Wolves boss has lifted the side and they look a very organised unit, making them a tough side for any team to play.

Norwich did beat them when they met earlier in the season, but that defeat will be in the back of the Ipswich fans' and players' minds now and they will be looking to remain ahead of their local rivals for as long as possible, as they seem to be enjoying looking down on them.
