Five big stats ahead of Astra Giurgiu v Celtic in the Europa League

We’ve got all the big numbers you need as Ronny Deila’s Bhoys head to Romania in search of a win to take them through to the knockout phase.

291 – That’s how many minutes it’s been since Celtic last conceded a goal in a competitive game, with Craig Gordon and Polish understudy Lukasz Zaluska both featuring for the Hoops during that impressive run. Oddly enough, Astra were the last team to find the net against the Bhoys...

23 – Astra midfielder Elliot Grandin is the closest thing the Romanian club have to a superstar, having previously been on the books at Marseille and CSKA Sofia among others. He is best remembered for a spell in the Premier League with Blackpool, where he featured 23 times in the top-flight.

34 – Stefan Scepovic may have been the goalscoring hero when these two met at Parkhead but the Serbian is enduring something of a drought in terms of goals scored on the road.

Factoring in his time with Celtic as well as Sporting Gijon, it’s been 34 games since he found the net in an away game, scoring in a Segunda Division game with Real Madrid’s second string side back in January of this year.

54.5 – The Romanians have, on the whole, left it late to find the net in this competition to date with 54.5 per cent of the goals they have scored across the seven games they have played so far in the Europa League coming in the final 15 minutes of games - as Celtic discovered last time out.

5 – Astra have endured a long journey to get to this stage, having commenced qualifying back in August and while the Romanians may be limited in terms of quality, fans have enjoyed plenty of action in front of goal – both teams have found the net in five of their six European games this term.
