Destiny helped Activision earn $753m in Q3, sequel in the works

The latest earnings report from the publisher signals large earnings and future content for one of it's biggest new games.

In its latest earnings call to investors, Activision announced that Destiny helped the company earn a GAAP revenue of $753 million, which is quite a big increase over the $691 million earned during the same period last year.

Destiny has over 9.5 million registered users, playing the game for an average time of 3 hours per day, said Activision.

Most notably the company announced during an investor Q&A that 'work has also begun on future expansion packs, as well as on our next full game release.'

Activision also said that Destiny was the largest new franchise launch in videogame history, ranking among the top 10 videogame launches of all time in the US, according to NPD Group.
