Arsenal latest: 'No contact' with midfield target; Kramer confusion

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are said to be considering a move for a defensive midfielder this January, with plenty of names such as Sami Khedira, Christoph Kramer and William Carvalho all being mentioned.

Polish international Gregorz Krychowiak is also believed to be a target. The Sevilla midfielder has been in good form recently and has attracted attention from The Gunners - despite only recently making the move to La Liga.

However, the player's agent Cezary Kucharski has revealed no approach for his client's services has been made - telling Estadio Deportivo:

"At the moment I have no contact with Arsenal in relation to Krychowiak. He is focused 100% on Sevilla and not thinking about any other club."

So this would appear to be one defensive midfielder target they can cross off the list for now.

Christoph Kramer's reported agent Emanuele Marchetti is also suggesting the World Cup winner can be crossed from that very same list.

The German midfielder is currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach and has also been linked with Spurs and Napoli.

But Marchetti says:

"For the moment he is very happy and settled in Germany. If things changed, Napoli would be one of the first clubs to be informed."

However it is now being reported that Marchetti is not actually Kramer's agent, but is trying to broker and engineer a move to Italy for the star.
