Who joins Lloris and Toure in our team of the month for October?

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Southampton, Swansea City, Hull City, Manchester City and Chelsea stars all feature.

October was a roller coaster of a month in the Premier League as the league table has started to take some shape with Chelsea leading the way at the top while Burnley struggle at the other end.

There were plenty of standout performances last month although a full set of league fixtures wasn’t possible after the second international break of the season so far.

Here’s our team of the month for October.

GK – Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)

Made the joint highest number of saves last month.

D – Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

Just seems to get stronger and better the more he plays. His tackling stats were impressive throughout last month.

D – Leighton Baines (Everton)

More assists than anyone else last month. Effective at both ends of the pitch for Roberto Martinez’ side.

D – Federico Fernandez (Swansea City)

The Swans star was one of the safest defenders in the Premier League in terms of playing the ball out from the back.

D – Jose Fonte (Southampton)

Watch any of his performances from last month and he was almost faultless in terms of his positioning and skill as a defender.

M – Dusan Tadic (Southampton)

Extremely effective in between the Saints midfield and attack, creating chances for his teammates.

M – Mo Diame (Hull City)

Diame won more tackles than any other midfielder in October. He would provide the grit and aggression in our team from last month.

M – Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Toure silenced his critics in October with a solid and impressive passing game.

M – Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

The Spaniard has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League this season and was only just behind Toure in terms of accurate passes.

S – Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Aguero was the top scorer during October, doing the business for City when they needed it most.

S – Wilfried Bony (Swansea City)

Bony was only one goal behind with four, as he led the Swans attack superbly throughout last month.
