Manchester United youngster James Wilson’s efforts weren’t enough to stop Manchester United’s under-21 side falling to defeat against Leicester City last night, with the Foxes winning 3-2.
Wilson scored the opening goal of the game as he continues to keep the pressure up on first team boss Louis van Gaal to keep him involved in and around the first team.
Wilson’s goal saw him nick the ball from a short pass while under pressure before he turned and unleashed his breathtaking pace to get in behind the Leicester defence as he toyed with the goalkeeper before slotting home for a neat finish.
Van Gaal has publicly praised Wilson’s progress as he further cements his status as the number four striker at Manchester United behind Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao.
When he next gets a chance to cash in for the senior side, he has to make it count and there won’t be many defenders who can live with his extreme pace based on this footage.
