Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been voted as the best player in the Manchester derby by Premier League fans.
In a poll conducted on the official twitter account of the Premier League, the Argentina international came on top ahead of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Aguero, who joined City from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011, scored the only goal of the derby in the second half to lead Manuel Pellegrini’s side to a 1-0 home win in the Premier League clash.
De Gea also played well in the derby and made some crucial saves, and perhaps deservedly comes second.
City captain Vincent Kompany came fourth, United skipper Wayne Rooney ended up fifth and Citizens midfielder Yaya Toure was third.
Interestingly, Marouane Fellaini’s name does not come in the top five. The United midfielder had one of his best games in recent months against City, making five successful tackles and completing 90% of his passes.
