Exactly 14 years ago Leeds United won a famous match 4-3 against Liverpool.
It is a match Leeds United fans will never forget, a game in which striker Mark Viduka single-handedly put Liverpool to the sword by netting all four goals in a 4-3 victory.
On November 4 2000 Leeds – then managed by David O’Leary – welcomed the Reds to Elland Road and swiftly went two goals down following strikes from Sami Hyypia and Christian Ziege.
At that point it appeared there would be only one winner, but Viduka had other ideas, levelling the scores before the interval.
Vladimir Smicer put Liverpool back in front but Leeds’ Australian striker then cemented full-on hero status by scoring two more and sealing the win in the process.
The front-man would later say that he had actually played better than he did on that momentous day, that it was one of those rare occasions when he scored with every half-chance.
