Alan Pardew has identified four areas that have allowed Newcastle United to impress in recent fixtures.
The Magpies boss believes that the core of a good goalkeeper and defence, matched with a less open style and having pace on the break has served them well.
The club have picked up four wins from their last four fixtures and Pardew has been discussing the formula for that success.
"The basis of what we have done is a great defence, good goalie, not letting teams hurt us and having pace in the team," he said to the Shields Gazette.
“On the break, that will cause anyone problems, whatever level they are.
“We proved against Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham that on the break, we’re very, very difficult.
“Time and again on Saturday, we broke with real purpose, and in the end we got a goal, and perhaps should have had a second."
Pardew had been under severe pressure after the first seven games of the season, where the Magpies failed to pick up a win, but he deserves huge credit for turning things around.
The side have looked far more confident in recent weeks and there is now a real momentum behind them.
Newcastle are already level on points with Manchester United and will look to extend their good run and continue climbing the table.
This weekend they have a winnable fixture against West Bromwich Albion as they look to make it five victories out of five.
