Minions finally gets its first trailer

Despicable Me Minions

The long awaited Minions movie finally has its first trailer.

Animation studio Illumination have finally made the first trailer for their upcoming Minions movie available to the public following it's initial showing at CinemaCon back in March.

The movie will be somewhat of a prequel to the first Despicable Me movie, tracing the origins of the Minions before they met Super Villian Gru.

In the trailer we see the Minions emerge from the ocean in Prehistoric times, they then begin their search for a Master, as it's in their nature to serve. We then see them serving a T-Rex, an Egyptian King, Napoleon and Dracula, all ending in comedic tragedy. The Minions then get depressed, not having a master to serve, so one Minion, Kevin, goes on a quest to find "The biggest, baddest villian to serve". Taking two friends with him, the ever hungry Stuart and the timid Bob, we see them questing through various landscapes before they arrive in New York in the year 42 B.G (Before Gru).

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Chris Meledandri, Boss of Illumination, spoke of the upcoming Minions movie.

“We start the Minions film at the dawn of time, when they're Minion single-celled creatures and it takes us all the way up to the 1960s in London and New York. The Minions' goal always has been to serve the biggest, baddest villain they can find. But over the years they've inadvertently ended up killing their own leader through happenstance. The movie becomes their quest for a new leader."

We can't wait for this movie to be released, following Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 that were both hilarious to Children and Adults alike.

Minions has a current cinema release schedule of Summer 2015, we will keep you updated with any news as we get it.
