Charlton boss hints over team selection for Leeds match

Charlton boss Bob Peeters has hinted over his team selection for the game against Leeds United.

Charlton Athletic manager Bob Peeters has revealed that he was forced to use Igor Vetokele for longer than he wanted to last weekend against Sheffield Wednesday.

His comments suggest that he was planning to protect the player for the match against Leeds United this evening.

“We had high pressure and some chances to break but the quality in the final third was not enough,” he told the Seven Oaks Chronicle.

“Normally the plan was only to play (Igor) Vetokele for 15 minutes, but he played half an hour including injury-time.”

“If the whole team is back in full fitness then we are a hard team to beat.”

Charlton head into the game this evening as slight favourites due to their superior position in the Championship table.

However, if there are any signs of fatigue in the Charlton side, Leeds have several younger players who can step on the gas and make it difficult for the visitors in front of an intimidating home crowd.

Vetokele is just one of several players who need to pull their weight this evening if the Addicks are going to get a result and it’s important Peeters’ preparations have adapted if the original plan was to keep him fresh for this evening’s game.
