Report: Liverpool player will almost certainly leave Anfield in January

Inter Milan

Fabio Borini is reportedly nearing the end of his time at Liverpool once and for all.

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is in the rumour mill once again, with Italian website TMW claiming the Reds forward will “almost certainly” leave Anfield in January.

The former Sunderland loanee is said to have rejected the chance to leave Merseyside during the summer as he looked to stake a claim for a first-team spot under Brendan Rodgers. But despite the poor performances of Mario Balotelli, Borini has had to make do with just 119 minutes of Premier League football this season.

As a result, Inter Milan have found themselves linked once again with the 23-year-old, with the latest report suggesting the player’s time at Anfield really is coming to an end, a few months after that first seemed to be the case.

Given his age, there is still time for Borini to carve out a successful and prolonged career at Liverpool, but with Rodgers only using him sparingly despite the need for goals, he may finally accept that a move is the right option at this time, especially if the Serie A giants really are interested.
